Going to the show will let you get input from editors and pros you won't usually meet online too.

I don't have any recommendations lol.

i know.... couple of people in the industry always tell me that but i really don't think my skill level was good enough at the time of all the major cons.. know what i mean.

it's not that i lack self confendence or anything like that i just looked at my colors and i didn't think it was compariable to some of the really good colorist out there...but it will be by next years con's...

hmmm as for what to color what about this one:

It's not about being comparable, you need to get first hand feedback from them and the only way to really meet them is at the shows. That's the reason I do SDCC every year -- its not a show I have a table at, I go to talk to people.

Sure I think I have a high res of that around here somewhere :)

i hear you and agree 110% i just wanted to be able to bring a portfolio to show that was worth bringing... you know what i mean?

since we on the cons info what does it generally cost to get in and to get your pass? and you know it would be cool to put faces with the names....

I went my first year with a portfolio that I literally threw together the day before I left, out of what I had inked to that point. You should have your best work, but if you keep waiting until you think you have something "worth bringing" you will miss out on a lot of potential reviews from people that would help you improve tenfold and get to where you want to be sooner :)

It's $75 to get a 4 day pass to SDCC. I can't speak for myself though since I don't have to buy my pass as a pro (I'm an EIC and a pro inker). And yeah going to the shows is also a good way to put faces to names :D You wouldn't believe how many people were surprised to see I was a girl the first year I went
